Forget MacBook Pro 2021: Samsung Galaxy Book Pro stuns in new leak

Last week, a leaked roadmap revealed Samsung’s planned product launch in the coming months, and while our main focus was on the Galaxy S21 FE scheduled for August, there is also an interesting PC Unpacked event scheduled for next month.

Now Evan Blass, the established leaker who shared the original roadmap, is back with information on two of the products to be launched next month: the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and the Pro 360. These systems look quite sleek and powerful and could steal some attention away from the upcoming 14-inch MacBook Pro.

As naming conventions suggest, the difference between the two seems to be the form factor and not the internal specifications. While the Galaxy Book Pro is a simple laptop and sequel to the Galaxy Book Ion, the Pro 360 includes a 360-degree hinge, allowing the screen to rotate and turn into a Windows-based tablet. In other words, it seems to be closer to the Galaxy Book Flex in terms of design.

From the limited specifications available, it appears that internal DNA is widely shared, however. Both will be available in 13- and 15-inch sizes, with 11th-generation Intel processors and built-in graphics of choice, or something special in the form of Nvidia’s GXU MX450.

The screens – both of which support Samsung’s S Pen – are Full HD AMOLED panels and the devices are said to include Thunderbolt 4 support and an optional LTE connection. (Why not 5G?) Obviously, the regular Pro model will be available in blue or silver, while the Pro 360 will be available in navy or gold.

Although not mentioned by Blass here, when the Galaxy Book Pro was first announced by WalkingCat last month on Twitter, the leaker also unveiled a third laptop: the Galaxy Book Go.

This, as you can see from the above integration, promises “the fastest Qualcomm processor ever in the G.Book”, assuming you have the top model with 8cx processor, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB UFS SSD storage. A entry-level model is programmed with the 7c processor, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB UFS SSD.

WalkingCat wrote that both the Galaxy Book Pro and Go “are coming in May.” This is a little later than the roadmap shared by Blass, though not dramatically. It is also quite possible that while the devices will be unveiled on April 14, they may not be available for purchase until next month.

Apple is expected to hold an Apple Event in April, at which the company is expected to present a new iPad Pro 2021, AirTags and possibly a new iMac 2021 with Apple Silicon, but a new 14-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro 16- The inch 2021 may not appear later.

In any case, we do not seem to have long to wait to see more details, such as pricing, availability, and whether Samsung has Chrome OS-based devices to come with these Windows machines.
