Bangalore – Kempegowda Worldwide Airport Suburban Practice has began.

From Monday onwards, travelers to Bangalore will finally be able to catch a train to and from the International Airport on the outskirts of the city. Until now, passengers depended on airport taxis, buses costing around INR 250 per person.

Now, South Western Railway has launched suburban train services to Devanahalli Station near the airport and this new service will be the first non-expensive, faster and non-road service for commuters arriving at the airport. A total of 5 train pairs are scheduled to run from the city center to the airport with fares as low as 10-15 INR and according to information, BMTC shuttle services will run from the train station to the airport with fares as low as INR10 .

Speaking on this, Karnataka Prime Minister Sri BS Yadyurapa wrote on Twitter, “From Monday, Bengalis can take a train to Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli Station. Trains will run from Bangalore City Station to the newly constructed KIA Devanhalli Railway. “

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said the train route would not only benefit millions of people, but also drastically reduce congestion.

Speaking on Twitter, he wrote: “Halt International Airport Kempegowda Railway Station in Bangalore, Karnataka is ready to serve travelers from January 4. This will significantly enhance last mile connectivity with Bangalore Airport, benefit millions of people and drastically reduce traffic congestion. “

Speaking to a leading newspaper, Vijaya, Deputy General Manager and CEO of Public Relations at South Western Railways, said: “As we all know, Kempegowda International Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in our country. Access to this airport has always been a problem for air travelers. From some parts of Bangalore, it would take an hour and a half to two hours. Given the traffic situation in Bangalore, it was a real problem to get to the airport. To eliminate this problem, BIAL and Southwest Railway Stations worked together to provide a stop station very close to the airport. The railways provided the land. The airport authorities have built the station. To serve this station exclusively, we run 5 pairs of trains. Two are from Majestic – namely the KSR, the Bengaluru. One will be from Yelahanka. Ticket fares, as is always the case with railways, are very low. The ticket from Bangalore station is 10 ₹. If it passes through Cantonment Station it is ₹ 15. “

It will be beneficial for residents working at the airport, the official said. Ms Vijaya also said: “There are thousands of employees at Bangalore Airport. The devices will be extremely beneficial for them as well. We talked to the airport authorities and planned the train schedule in such a way as to keep track of the maximum time at the airport which is early in the morning and again late at night. We hope the services are well protected. “

At present, rail services will run from KSR Bangalore Station to Devanhalli Airport Station for one hour with intermediate stops. And if the answer is good, there may be non-stop train services.
