‘Adoption is beautiful’: Texas man shares how personal journey inspired his book ‘When God Blessed Us With You’

“I am living proof that someone who was adopted at the age of 2 and now 36 years old, that success is really on the other side,” said Jonathan Johnson.

Everyone has a story, and sometimes those stories light a fire under us to make a difference.

For a man in North Texas, his story led him to write a special book on adoption.

Jonathan Johnson is a man who prays a lot. “We pray, Lord, that this interview reaches those who need it most.”

Do not tell Johnson that he is lucky.

“I’m blessed for sure. Yes. Yes,” he said.

Johnson was adopted by foster care when he was 2 years old.

“I live proof that someone who was adopted at the age of 2 and now 36, that success is really on the other side,” he said confidently.

His own adoption story is the inspiration behind his new book.

“The point of the book is to show that adoption is beautiful,” he said.

His book “When God Blessed Us With You” was released last November.

Johnson Trey’s son proudly read excerpts from it for the WFAA.

“This book is dedicated to those who have found their family forever and to those who are still waiting. God is listening to you,” Trey read.

The story is about a little boy named Sampson, whose parents understand a clever way to tell him that he has been adopted.

“The basis of the book is to let them know that even though you are waiting to adopt or for the children who have been adopted, there is always someone out there who loves you,” Johnson said.

Johnson grew up with a lot of love and support. The love he received from his adoptive parents brought him into difficult times.

“At the age of 15, I really had kidney failure while I was in school,” he said.

While trying to find a kidney donor, he found his biological mother.

It was not a fight, but it was added to his family.

“Every time I met her, I met her husband, but then it turns out that I am the eldest of four children. And now, my family was so much bigger at night,” she said.

Johnson is blessed with his health, a wife and two biological sons who adore him.

“He helps me, he gives me hugs and he prays for us. He makes us very happy and he makes our dog happy,” said Landon’s youngest son.

Johnson Brittany’s wife is proud of him who shines a bright light in adoption and how beautiful she is when people are interested in making a difference in a child’s life.

“Know that, although they may be older when you adopt them, their future is not based on their past, it is based on the impact their parents have on them and the foster care system on them. This is what I am really proud of him for portraying. “

Johnson just wants to pay for his blessings.

“I see many children wondering why no one will adopt me? Do I like someone? In other words, many of the children I have seen feel that there is something wrong with them and this book proves that there is nothing wrong with you. “
